The Height of the Arc

Your objective as a player is to make the game as easy as possible.

I started covering more ground and shooting threes from longer distances to solve a problem. Sometimes the biggest revolutions—in sports, in business, in technology, in politics—start with two simple questions: Why is this so hard? How can I make it easier?

My problem as an offensive player was the defense, and the solution was space. The farther out I went, the more space I created between myself and the defenders. The more space I had, the easier the game became.

That was my thought process. I was just reacting to how I was being guarded. It’s true in basketball and in other parts of life, too. The farther you get from your competition, the harder it is for them to defend your shot. So let’s get to shooting.
